Bushland management

We preserve and protect bushlands through works that enhance local ecosystems, vegetation works, weed management and fire hazard management.

Inspect more than 2,300 hectares of bushland across 265 locations.
Manage more than 2,350 fire management zones to reduce fire risk.
Coordinate fire hazard reduction activities over 170 locations.
Coordinate more than 500 working bees to support volunteers who help to preserve bushland areas.

Develop, schedule and report on the Biodiversity Works Program to maintain and enhance local ecosystems.
Apply effective control methods to remove or manage noxious and environmental weeds in bushland areas.
Restore and maintain native plant life through planting and direct seeding to support local biodiversity.
Reduce fire risk through the careful removal or modification of vegetation in Fire Management Zones (FMZs).
Coordinate and undertake patrols on declared Total Fire Ban days.
