Volunteer Locally

Volunteering is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to your community, meet people and feel a sense of belonging.

Volunteering can provide a sense of purpose and achievement. It can help you feel that you are part of the community and help you feel better about yourself. You can share your talent and learn new skills. You can meet new people and help with loneliness.

We spoke to volunteers from Meals on Wheels, emergency services, our Mornington Visitor Centre and a local community house to find out: why they love volunteering, what the benefits of volunteering are and why they think more people should consider volunteering.

Ever thought about volunteering but don't know where to find information?

You can drop in to our Volunteer Information Hub at the Mornington Community Information and Support Centre to chat about what opportunities might be available for you.

The Hub provides a face-to-face service, giving you information on what volunteering roles might suit you, access the internet to view current volunteering vacancies and access contact details for local organisations.

The Centre already provides community support and information, so the Volunteering Information Hub brings additional value by linking volunteers to programs or organisations in their local area.
