Book a sports ground

• Bookings are available Monday to Thursday between 8.00am and 3.00pm. Bookings are not available on Fridays.
• A Certificate of Currency for $20 million Public Liability Insurance is required for all bookings.
• Applications must be made at least 14 days prior to required date. Late requests may not be accommodated.
• Sports Pavilions are not available for casual hire. 
• A minimum of 24 hours notice must be provided to council if a hirer chooses to cancel their booking. If bookings are cancelled within 24 hours of booking date, full fees will apply.
• Bookings will be subject to existing sports club usage agreements, maintenance periods, periods of ground closure due to ground conditions, and projects. 
• Bookings during Winter are limited. Bookings for these months may need to be moved or cancelled, subject to ground conditions at the time. 

• For Civic Athletics, Tennis and Bowls Facility bookings: please visit the online community directory MP Community.  If you wish to enquire or book these facilities, please contact the clubs directly.

Sportsgrounds are classified as A, B or C grounds based on facility quality, infrastructure and maintenance needs.

Hire fees reflect the standard of each ground.

• The Council adopted fees for 2026-27 are listed in the table below
• Grounds are classified as A, B or C grounds and charged as an hourly rate
• Fee is charged per oval/pitch. Netball courts are charged as a flat rate fee
• You will receive an invoice within 30 days of your booking being completed

Please read the MPS Casual Sportsground Bookings T&Cs(PDF, 171KB)  before starting your application. You will need to agree to these as part of your application.

Step 2 - Gather your public liability insurance

Ensure you have an electronic copy of your current Public Liability Insurance for $20 million.

Step 3 - Apply online

To apply to make a booking, you will need to visit our online booking platform (click the Apply Now button below).

If you do not have an account, you will need to create an account before you can make a booking. Once your account has been approve, you can then log into your account to make your booking, alter bookings, view invoices, make payments and much more.

Please note – bookings can only be made 14 days or more in advance. If you require an urgent booking within the next 14 days, please register your account and then contact us at sportsclubs@mornpen.vic.gov.au with your booking request.

If you are a Mornington Peninsula Shire local sporting club, please see the below important information and refer to the email sent to your club contact/s to submit your pre-season applications. Please visit the ‘Apply to book a Sports Ground’ section if you are wishing to make a one off casual sports ground booking outside your Club's Licence times.

Important Information for Clubs

• Requests for pre-season use must be submitted via email to sportsclubs@mornpen.vic.gov.au
• Clubs must provide a copy of their current Certificate of Currency/ Insurance for $20million (Must be in date, we will not accept expired CoC’s)
• Permission from your shared tenant must be gained, and produced on request
• Fees will not be applicable
• No access to pavilions is permitted. Clubs will have access to public toilet facilities.
• Training must be in runners/rubber-soled sports shoes.
• Use of high traffic areas, and repetitive drills in prohibited.
