2026 Briars Ward By-Election

Following the resignation of Councillor Anthony Marsh, Ward Councillor for Briars Ward, the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) will run a by-election. 

The by-election will be conducted by postal vote closing 6pm on Friday 2 October 2026. Counting of the postal votes will commence on Saturday, 3 October 2026. The VEC is currently finalising key details for this election process.

Enrolment is now open for the Briars Ward by-election.

To be eligible to vote, you must be correctly enrolled by the close of roles, which will be published by the VEC.

State electoral enrolment (residents)

If you live in the Briars Ward, check or update your enrolment with the Victorian Electoral Commission, see VEC Enrolment.

Council enrolment (ratepayers, occupiers, corporations)

If you are not enrolled on the state roll but may be eligible through property ownership or occupation, you can apply using Council enrolment forms.
