Disability Advisory Committee

The Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) is a committee of the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council whose purpose is to advocate, advise and make recommendations to Council on issues impacting people with disability in the local and wider community.

The work of the DAC is linked to the Shire's We All Belong: Towards an Inclusive Mornington Peninsula 2024-2029 strategy.

The objectives of the DAC are:

  • To work with Council to ensure that all relevant policies, programs and practices reflect the needs and rights of community members with disabilities, and carers of people with disability
  • To provide a central point for Council and the Mornington Peninsula Shire community regarding issues relevant to people with disabilities

The majority of members are people with lived experience of disability, as well as carers and service providers from the Mornington Peninsula.
