Real trees

You can take your Christmas tree to any of our Resource Recovery Centres or at the Flinders hopper for only $8.50 between 1 - 31 January.

You can also use tip vouchers to dispose of the tree. We recommend including other green waste as well to make the most of your voucher (1 cubic metre per voucher).

Residents with a garden and food waste bin can dispose of their tree in this bin, but please ensure branches are no larger than 10cm in diameter and 30cm in length.

Artificial trees

If you have an artificial tree that is at the end of its lifespan, you can dispose of this in your kerbside rubbish bin. Better yet, treat your tree with care and reuse year after year!

How about a free trip to the tip?

There are lots of items that don’t belong in your kerbside bins, such as batteries, gas containers, electrical appliances and textiles. These can be disposed of for free at our resource recovery centres. Larger things like tyres, mattresses and white goods are free too.

Check out our Waste and Recycling Guide to learn what goes where.
