Continuing to push our agenda

Shire CEO Mark Stoermer and Mayor Anthony Marsh made a trip to federal parliament in August, joining a local delegation to Canberra including Frankston City Council Mayor Kris Bolam, Jodie Belyea MP, Zoe McKenzie MP and Josh Sinclair, CEO Committee for Frankston and Mornington Peninsula.

Our CEO and Mayor met with Federal and Shadow Ministers to advocate for the region, highlighting ongoing challenges and opportunities for investment locally.

The discussions with federal colleagues will help promote some of our advocacy priorities, including:

  • the release of Port of Hastings surplus land for potential housing, agriculture and industry
  • more adequate funding for homelessness services
  • upgrades to Rosebud Hospital
  • road and infrastructure investment
  • better public transport.

Council will continue to advocate for these priorities, and push for outcomes we know will make a significant difference to the prosperity and wellbeing of our community.
