The principal legislation in Victoria governing the establishment and operation of councils is the Local Government Act 1989, along with various other Acts.
The Mornington Peninsula Shire Local Laws makes provision for residents to apply for a Local Law permit when the activity they wish to undertake is not permitted without approval of a Local Law permit
These local laws are enforceable regulations that have been established by the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council.
