Located next to the Shire Nursery at The Briars in Mt Martha, The Eco Living Display Centre is a wonderful place to volunteer. We offer indoor and outdoor roles. Whichever you choose, you’ll be helping to promote sustainable living practices that don’t cost the Earth.

Seeking Garden Enthusiasts

Are you keen to get your hands dirty? Our display garden demonstrates a bucketload of ideas, from water saving strategies, to a zero-food-mile kitchen garden, wicking beds, food forest, compost bays and a worm farm. During Autumn we will be focussed on our winter crops, rejuvenating vegetable beds and fruit trees, planting ‘green manure’ and building up our soils in preparation for the next growing season. We’d love to have your company in the garden.

When: Every Friday 1-3pm

Eco Living Display Centre tour guides

If you have an interest in eco-friendly building design and construction, solar PV systems, electrical and plumbing systems, engineering, or innovative products and materials - or you just enjoy talking about the technical aspects of an energy and water efficient home in general…you may be interested in volunteering as a tour guide. We will teach you everything you need to know about our eco-friendly display house!

When: Occasional Fridays 1-4pm and occasionally the first Saturday of the month 9am - 1pm
