We are currently recruiting for both Business Trainee and Identified Business Trainee positions. As a trainee, you’ll work at the Shire for a 12-month program which will offer learning and development opportunities, the chance to expand personal and professional capabilities, while completing a Certificate III in Business - a formal and recognised qualification, through a Registered Training Organisation.
The Shire’s Traineeship Program provides flexible employment and training opportunities for people wanting to build a career. The program is aimed at attracting:
- School leavers
- Adults entering or returning to the workforce, reskilling, or seeking a career change.

What should you expect?
The 12-month Traineeship Program is a full-time position. Participants in the program are supported every step of the way with opportunities to learn and grow on the job while completing a Certificate III in Business - a formal and recognised qualification.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for a traineeship, applicants must:

- Stage 1 - Applications
Online Applications: 21 October 2024 until 10 November 2024
- Stage 2 - Application Shortlisting
Shortlisting of applications received
- Stage 3 - Assessment Centre
Interview and Group Activities (2 hour commitment): 19 + 20 November 2024
- Stage 4 - Online Assessment
Testing language, literacy and numeracy skills: December 2024
- Stage 5 - Reference and Background Checks
- Reference checks from two referees provided by you
- A criminal history check and Working with Children Check is also required
prior to an offer of employment
December 2024
- Stage 6 - Offer
A verbal offer will be made, followed by a letter of offer and new starter information
December 2024
- Stage 7 - Commencement
