The household rubbish bin (an 80 litre bin with a dark green lid) is collected weekly - Monday to Friday – on the same day of the week throughout the entire year.
There are three different ways to dispose of your household rubbish: weekly household kerbside collections, booked hard waste collection and disposal at out tips and hoppers.
Learn how to dispose of your green waste using green waste bins, no charge green waste weekends, green waste drop-off at transfer stations or green waste kerbside pickup.
Recycling services are offered in two ways on the Mornington Peninsula: through our Mornington, Rye and Tyabb Transfer Stations plus our fortnightly kerbside recycling program.
Sometimes your bins may become damaged, lost or stolen. Find out what to do to get your bin replaced or repaired.
Kerbside bin inspections are carried out across the Shire. If your bins have been inspected, you will receive a tag providing feedback, and information about recyclable items.
If you are deaf, or have a hearing or speech impairment, you can contact us through the National Relay Service.
