Container Deposit Scheme

Victoria’s much anticipated container deposit scheme, CDS Vic, began on 1 November 2023.

CDS Vic will allow Victorians to return certain used drink cans, bottles and cartons for a 10-cent refund. 

To date over a billion containers have been returned.

There are 4 depots:

  • 1/8 Henry Wilson Drive, Rosebud
  • 32 Brasser Avenue, Dromana
  • 42 Watt Road, Mornington
  • 3/15 Wallis Drive, Hastings

There are also many Over the Counter locations across the Peninsula.

Have a a couple of containers and want to make a difference? Drop them off at one of the baskets that have been installed across the Peninsula. 

Container Deposit Scheme Basket Trial

For charities, community groups and sports club, Return-It can provide 240L wheelie bins or bulk bags to assist with collecting and transporting containers to the depots.
