Integrated Transport Strategy

During November and December of 2024, we ran a community consultation period to gather feedback and insights from the community on all things transport, Walking, Cycling, Driving and Public Transport.

What we heard during the Community Consultation

  • Over 800 pieces of public feedback collected
  • 386 community surveys completed
  • 294 interactive map pins identifying transport challenges
  • Four in-person pop-ups, with over 380 face-to-face conversations

Key themes raised by the community included:

  • Limited public transport frequency and township connections
  • Poor footpath and cycling infrastructure
  • Safety concerns, especially at crossings and intersections
  • Congestion during holiday periods and school times
  • Lack of accessible, inclusive transport options

A big thank you to all of the community members that took the time to submit surveys, drop pins on the map and talk to us at the in-person pop-ups.

What’s the Strategy all about?

Our focus is on:

  • Connecting our community: Making it easier to travel between townships and key destinations.
  • Supporting sustainable transport: More options for walking, cycling, public transport, micromobility and reducing our environmental impact.
  • Safety for everyone: Ensuring transport routes are safe and accessible for all.
  • Making life easier: Cutting down on travel time and easing congestion while supporting local businesses.
  • Future-proofing: Planning for population growth and adapting to emerging transport technologies.

What’s Next?

We are now moving into a development phase for the Integrated Transport Strategy, this period allows us to work through all of the feedback, engage with the Department of Transport and Planning and other relevant government agencies, and develop the Integrated Transport Strategy as a document.

Our next formal period of community consultation will be with a draft Integrated Transport Strategy and is planned for later this calendar year.

If you want to get in contact during this period, please feel free to reach out through our standard customer service channels.
