The Briars Wildlife Eco Explorers holiday program creates a chance for children to connect to their natural world, immersing them into the environment of the Briars, our passionate team and some behind the scenes experiences too!

Beyond the Sanctuary Gates

Let' s go behind the scenes and discover how rangers track the wildlife that call the sanctuary home. What secret signs do they leave behind?

Wildlife Detectives

Help the ranger team set up hidden sanctuary cameras so we can watch the sanctuary animals and learn more about their behaviours.

Bush Tucker Lunch

In our bush tucker garden make damper over the fire with native ingredients. With all our senses, connect with the foods that have always been here

Scavenger Hunt and Nature Clay Creations

Discovering seedpods, cones and other natural textures and shapes, we’ll get hands on to create something special to take home.

Eye Spy? Secrets of the Species

Let' s take a look at the camera footage, what can we discover from the animals’ behaviour when they think we aren’t looking?

Wetland Wonders

Learn about the wetland birds, and do some citizen science data collection of our wetland plant areas.

Bat Box Building

Ever heard of a mirco bat? They’re pretty cool. Discover more about these amazing tiny mammals, then build your very own bat box to take home to your garden.

Pot Painting & Planting

Paint your own colourful pot creation, then we’ll meet the nursery team to plant our own native species to take home.

Buzzy Bee Mobiles

After an afternoon amongst our native plants, we 'll make our own tribute to the magical pollinators with the plant world.

Guided Walk on Country

Come Join us on a guided bush Walk through the Sanctuary on Bunurong Country. Connect with the land around us and learn more about how we care for Country and how Country cares for us.

Ochre Crushing

Ochre is an important part of Culture for ceremony, skin protection and art. Learn how its prepared and used through a tactile session of ochre crushing and painting.

Dipping into Water Minibeasts

What do the animals we know well, like fish and eels, feed on? What’s a macroinvertebrate? Let' s get hands on through some dip netting fun and see what secrets they can share.

Up close Wildlife Encounter

We 'll meet some unique animals up close, visiting us just for the day. Learn about their habitat and even get the chance to hold and touch.
