Council operates advisory committees in various areas of its business, which are formally established through Council resolution with a policy, terms of reference and formal appointments of members.

Audit and Risk Committee

The purpose of the Audit and Risk Committee is to assist Council in the discharge of its responsibilities for financial and performance reporting, maintaining a reliable system of internal controls and fostering the organisation’s ethical development.

Arts and Culture Panel

The Shire values the significant contribution that the arts and cultural sector make to the region. An Arts and Culture Advisory Panel (ACAP) works with Council to help shape priorities and direction and to identify opportunities to grow and promote arts and culture across all of the Mornington Peninsula.

Coastal Advisory Groups

Coastal Advisory Groups play a crucial role in advising and assisting the Shire in the use, development, planning, management, protection, and enhancement of our coastlines. These groups will serve as a channel for communication between the Shire and the broader community regarding coastal projects.

Disability Advisory Committee

The Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) is a committee of the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council whose purpose is to advocate, advise and make recommendations to Council on issues impacting people with disability in the local and wider community.

Health and Wellbeing Advisory Committee

The Health and Wellbeing Advisory Committee provides strategic oversight and advice to Council on the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Shire’s Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan and the Gender Equality Strategy.

Peninsula Advisory Committee for Elders

The Peninsula Advisory Committee for Elders (PACE) was established in 2006 as a recommendation of the Elder Citizens in the Community Strategy to advise Council on how best to meet the current and future needs of elder citizens on the Mornington Peninsula.

Triple A Housing Advisory Committee

The Triple A Housing Advisory Committee supports the implementation and review of Council’s housing policies and plans to improve housing outcomes across the Shire.

It provides a forum for networking and sharing information on housing and homelessness, raises community awareness of local housing needs, advises Council on issues, strategies and advocacy opportunities, and monitors emerging trends and gaps within the housing and homelessness system.
