There are many ways to take climate action and live sustainably on the Mornington Peninsula. The Shire is keen to support our community to take individual actions and join collectively on initiatives that will help us reach net zero emissions by 2040 and create a clean, green future for all.
There are many powerful ways for businesses to mitigate climate change, including subsidised upgrades of your buildings and contacting our energy advice service.
Students recognise the urgency and scale of the climate crisis and are keen to know how they can be part of the solution. We can support your school through our Teachers Environment Network, our Schools Environmental Education Program and through a variety of resources included recorded webinars, guides and relevant websites.
Mornington Peninsula Shire recognises that the climate emergency presents an unprecedented challenge and we are proud to be part of an international movement taking urgent action to reduce emissions and to address climate change impacts. Our Climate Emergency Plan provides a clear plan to achieving net zero carbon emissions for the entire Mornington Peninsula by 2040.
