Baluk Arts
Baluk Arts is getting ready to reopen in Mount Eliza in July 2022.
Baluk Arts is a 100% Aboriginal owned not-for-profit Arts Centre situated in Mornington. One of only two Arts Centres of its kind in Victoria, Baluk Arts represents Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists who live in the South East region of Victoria including Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula.
Highly original and innovative, the work produced by Baluk artists is sourced from the unique perspectives of Aboriginal Peoples with diverse origins, histories and experiences. The iconography and use of locally sourced materials such as ochres, native plants and animals allows the artists to explore their own art styles within the context of the Mornington Peninsula.
The Baluk artists have earned international recognition for their skill, authenticity and integrity. You are bound to connect with a story within the many handmade artworks and products in a range which includes works on paper, paintings, prints, jewellery, small sculpture, ceramics and carvings.
All income made by Baluk Arts go directly to our Aboriginal artists and providing services and opportunities for them through workshops, exhibitions, promotions and employment. Learn about and experience the diversity of contemporary Aboriginal stories by visiting the gallery, and support Baluk Arts through purchasing a unique, handmade piece or through tax deductible donation.
Find Baluk Arts on the web and follow them on Facebook and Instagram to join their journey.
