Tree management
We proactively manage trees and vegetation in the road reserve and in public spaces through regular inspections, trimming and planting programs.
Every year, we work hard to...
- Inspect and report on more than 35,000 significant trees
- Inspect and clear 17,500 sections of vegetation alongside powerlines (where required).
- Inspect and maintain more than 2,000 areas of vegetation.
- Trim more than 15,000 areas of vegetation for tree health, safety, the functionality of the road network and aesthetics.
- Inspect for damage and cleanup after storms.
Some of the core maintenance we deliver:
- Proactively inspect and assess vegetation to identify necessary works that mitigate safety risks, preserve tree health, and enhance visual amenity while safeguarding mature trees.
- Undertake tree works based on inspection findings and responding to community requests for tree services.
- Draft and maintain an Electrical Lines Clearance Plan and deliver an annual inspection and pruning program to ensure clearance requirements from powerlines are met in Declared Urban Areas.
- Plan and implement the Shire’s tree planting program and ensuring the successful establishment of newly planted trees.
- Inspect and cleanup activities following storm events.
