Seniors Exercise Parks
Mornington Peninsula Shire is proud to have two dedicated exercise parks for seniors, located at Dunns Road Reserve, Mount Martha and Hastings Foreshore Reserve, Hastings. It is an easy and free way for senior residents to exercise.
About the Seniors Exercise Parks
The Seniors Exercise Parks are outdoor fitness equipment specifically designed for older adults with a focus on balance, flexibility, and gentle strength training. They are available and free to use anytime.
The exercises support senior residents to regain, maintain and improve their physical abilities.It also provides social connections and is a welcoming outdoor space.
Activities
There are 16 different exercises at both parks which work on:
- strength
- balance
- flexibility
- mobility
- coordination
- functional movements.
The equipment has some unstable surfaces, designed to challenge balance in a safe way to assist fall prevention.

Mobile app
There is an age-friendly mobile app available to help you use the equipment at the park.
To access the app, scan the large QR code displayed at the park with a smart phone.
The app:
- has simple instructions and instructional videos for each exercise
- lets you select the types of movements and exercises that suit you best.
Locations
There are two locations for Senior Exercise Parks.
Dunns Road Reserve, 127 Dunns Road, Mount Martha
It is next to the children’s playground
Hastings Foreshore Reserve, 91 Marine Parade, Hastings
It is next to the Hastings Tennis Club and opposite St Marys Primary School.
Meet our Community Champions
Come down and meet our community champions and get guidance from trained ambassadors on how to use the equipment safely and effectively. Our community champions regularly offer free sessions.
