Any sign placed on Council land must be in line with the Community Amenity Local Law 2022(PDF, 1MB) and the Signage Policy(PDF, 238KB).

The Mornington Peninsula Shire regulates signage on Council land under Clause 59 of the Community Amenity Local Law 2022(PDF, 1MB). Council’s Community Safety Team are responsible for assessing and granting permit applications, and any required enforcement action.
Signage to be placed on private land, eg real estate 'for sale' boards, must in compliance with the Planning Scheme and the Signage Policy.
Signage to be placed on land managed by a state authority, eg Department of Transport (VicRoads), must be referred to relevant authority.

Moveable advertising signs are defined in the Community Amenity Local Law 2022 as any moveable board, notice, structure, banner, or other similar device used for the purposes of notifying a sale, soliciting sales, or notifying people of the presence of an adjacent property where goods or services may be obtained.
The application fee for a moveable advertising sign permit is $302.40, however this fee may be waived in certain circumstances, such as charity or fundraising events.
