Mornington Peninsula Contemporary Art Prize is an annual art prize run by artists, for artists and this year MPCAPexplores the  theme of REFLECTION.

After the outstanding success of the inaugural prize last year, the well regarded  and popular Cook Street Collective  gallery in Flinders is excited to launch the second Mornington Peninsula Contemporary Art Prize ( MPCAP) at 5 pm Friday 31 October and runs until 23 November.

Cook Street Collective founder and co-director Neil Williams says:

"It’s no secret we’re drawn to seascapes - but REFLECTION reaches beyond light on water. It can capture a still moment, trace a weathered surface or evoke layers of thought, memory and change. This theme invites depth- both in what we see and what lies beneath."

Finalists in this year’s prize will interpret  the concept of REFLECTION through their own personal perspective, delving beyond the surface of light on water to reveal deeper meanings. Through diverse mediums and approaches, each artist is invited to explore how reflection can illuminate both internal and external worlds, becoming a powerful lens for seeing, feeling and remembering.

With an increased prize pool and the opportunity for a three week solo exhibition this is sure to be an exciting event for the Cook Street Collective gallery and the Mornington Peninsula.

Entries are open to Australian citizens and permanent residents aged 18 and over.
