Mount Eliza Township Activity Centre Car Parking Strategy Report

There is a strong reliance on car travel in Mount Eliza Township Activity Centre (TAC) and well-planned car parking is important to support the Village. Therefore, Council has prepared & adopted a carparking strategy for the Mount Eliza TAC. The strategy sets out how parking should be supplied and managed within the Village to ensure its ongoing prosperity and vibrancy into the future. On the basis of the policy context, background research and best practice parking management, the strategy has made thirteen (13) recommendations for managing car parking demand within the Mount Eliza Activity Centre.

Key recommendations of the strategy include:

• Expansion of 3P parking within John Butler Reserve carpark and Ranelagh Drive
• Improved wayfinding signage
• Further investigation of the implementation of smart parking technology
• Improving parking compliance
• Improved pedestrian connections to key carparks
• Changes to parking provision associated with new commercial developments
