The eastern car park next to the pier will be replaced with public open space. The park is currently fragmented by infrastructure, so a continuous area of public open space which is directly accessible to pedestrians from the township will be a great benefit to the community and all who visit Rye.

Works will include two plaza areas either end of the Foreshore Promenade, networks of paths, seating, BBQ facilities and landscaping.

Works are now underway for the Foreshore Park & Promenade areas. Demolition has begun at the pier carpark area and new pathways and connections are being excavated in preparation for concrete footpaths.
