This project was granted funding in the 2020-21 Federal Blackspot/Black Length Program and seeks to improve pedestrian safety conditions along Mount Eliza Way and to encourage the use of active transportation (walking & cycling) through the commercial precinct.

The project will convert the existing zebra crossing into a wombat/raised pedestrian crossing. There will be a reduction of the speed limit and the installation of electronic variable speed limit signs. Flashing pedestrian signals/flashing yellow lights for the main crossings will be installed along with painted 40km/h pavement markings and the construction of a refuge island.

The project will be delivered in 2 stages:

Stage A –  Civil works including raised platforms completed December 2022

Stage B – will include electrical and public lighting works which is anticipated to be completed before June 2023.

Update: April 2023
