Mornington Peninsula Shire has adopted the Road Management Plan 2025—a key document that sets out how Council inspects, maintains and repairs more than 1,700 km of local roads, as well as footpaths and related infrastructure across the Peninsula.

The updated Plan:

  • Adopts a consistent statewide framework (MAV RMP Template).
  • Simplifies defect definitions and service standards.
  • Aligns with current maintenance contracts and Council’s risk-based approach to road management.

The Plan ensures Council can continue delivering reliable and efficient road services—while working within available resources and maintaining transparency with the community.

Quotes attributable to Mayor Councillor Anthony Marsh:

“This Plan is essential to keeping our road network safe and functional. The updates make our standards clearer, more achievable and better aligned with how maintenance is delivered on the ground.”
