Safety Beach: Masterplan Implementation

The Safety Beach Master Plan aims to enhance and revitalise the Safety Beach foreshore area through a staged approach. The project will be delivered progressively over several years, subject to funding availability and approvals.

 

Stage 1 – Tassels Cove Carpark Area  
Stage 1 works at Tassels Cove are now complete. This stage included:
- Landscaping improvements  
- A newly upgraded carpark  
- Installation of a water bubbler with dog bowl  
- A new beach access ramp  

 

Construction commenced in July 2024 and reached Practical Completion in September 2024. The water bubbler is now operational following final connection by South East Water. Additional landscaping and planting around the carpark have been completed.

 

Next Steps
Mornington Peninsula Shire is currently reviewing cost plans and available funding before proceeding with further stages of the Master Plan.

 

Stage 2 – Pathway Connection  
Planning for Stage 2 is underway, focusing on the installation of a missing sealed path between the Safety Beach Yacht Club carpark and the foreshore playground/toilet block. A feature and level survey has been completed, with detailed design to follow.
