We service an extensive network of roads and roadside assets to maximise safety, network functionality and accessibility through our Road Corridors service contract.
Every year, we work hard to...
- Maintain approximately 1,776 km of local roads
- Regularly sweep 1,390 km of roads
- Regularly mow and slash more than 3.5 million square metres of roadsides
- Regularly grade 323 km of unsealed roads and tracks as well as 80 km of road shoulders
- Maintain 650 km of pathways (including weed management/grass ingress)
- Inspect and maintain 130 bridges and major culverts
- Service almost 60,000 drainage pits, 2050 km of piped drainage, 210 overland drainage routes as well as 35 drainage basins
- Maintain 39,500 road related signs, 13,400 guideposts and bollards and 135 bus shelters
- Maintain more than 24 km of guardrail
- Maintain 1170 retaining walls
- Maintain more than 40 marine structures
Some of the core maintenance we deliver:
- Maintain road pavements through proactive inspections of the road network, pothole repairs, surface patching and pavement shape correction, edge break repairs, crack sealing, weed/grass ingress management, line marking renewal, as well as pavement resurfacing and rehabilitation works.
- Grade road shoulders, unsealed roads and car parks, as well as undertake some dust suppression.
- Regular street sweeping to remove debris and maximise the functionality of the drainage network.
- Sweep and undertake pathway cleaning in high profile precincts.
- Mow and slash roadside vegetation to support the functionality of the road network and manage fire risk.
- Maintain guideposts, bollards, guard rail, bus shelters and signage.
- Maintain unsealed and sealed pathways, including grass/weed control.
- Clean/clear and maintain pits, pipes, culverts and open drains.Repair and maintain kerbs, channels and traffic islands.
- Repair and maintain kerbs, channels and traffic islands.
- Maintain drainage basins and water sensitive urban design (WSUD) assets.
- Maintain nonstandard street lighting, as well as other electrical systems for assets like pedestrian operated signals.
- Maintain some of the Peninsula’s marine structures (including boat ramps, jetties and seawalls).
- Remove graffiti on roads, roadside signage and drainage assets.
- Collect and remove litter, dead animals and dumped rubbish and provide rapid response to unexpected cleanups.
- Respond to after hours call outs for critical road, tree and open space issues.
