Storm and Flood
Storms can happen and any time and may result in flash flooding, high winds, landslides, fallen trees and other hazards. These extreme weather events can endanger the safety of people and property.
SES (132 500) are the responding agency for storms and flooding, however if you are in immediate danger - call 000
During a Storm or Flood
- If anyone’s life is in danger, contact 000
- SES storm response When to call 132 500 (ses.vic.gov.au)
- If you see an issue on Shire land (tree, drainage or road concern etc), report it report it. If the situation is dangerous please call 1300 850 600.
- Always assume a fallen power pole is live and stay at least 10 metres away from it. Report it immediately to United Energy on 13 20 99
- VICSES may set up sandbag collection points when called in for an emergency. At other times, community may be able to access sandbags from their local hardware or garden store, see the Sandbagging Guide for more info
- Staying indoors is your best option if you are safe to do so. If you must leave, avoid floodwater and parking under trees.
