Lodging a Planning Permit Amendment

If you want to make changes to an existing planning permit, the following information will be required:

Lodge an application

Step 1.Complete the application form

Download and complete one of the following applications forms:

Step 2.Certificate of Title

A current copy of the Certificate of Title (produced within the last 3 months)

Step 3.Plans required

To amend a planning permit, the following plans are required:

  • One copy of plans (scale 1:100 or 1:200) highlighting the proposed changes
  • All changes to the original permit should be clearly indicated
  • Plans must not display any previous endorsement stamps

To amend a permit under secondary consent the following plans are required:

  • A full set of amended plans
  • A copy of the previously endorsed plans including all original notations and changes clearly highlighted on the plans.

Plans are not required if amending the description of permit conditions. The permit conditions to be amended need to be identified and accompanied by a written explanation of the proposed changes, with detail of the proposed wording of the amended permit conditions.  

Step 4.Determine your application fee

The fee for lodging a secondary consent application :

  • Secondary consent (Residential)  $375.00
  • Secondary Consent (Industrial/Commercial/Other) $750.00

Permit amendment fees are generally based on the difference between the cost of the original development and the cost of the proposed changes.

Step 5.Submit your completed application

You can also lodge your application with Council's Customer Service staff at the following offices:

Privacy notice:  All information collected as part of this permit application will be available for public inspection in accordance with Section 51 of the Planning and Environment Act 1987. If you fail to provide this information, your application may not be processed. The information collected about you as part of the planning permit process will be made available at your request.
