Yarning Circle
Baluk Arts Indigenous artists will be sharing their unique story, career journey, and creative process, through a yarning circle and conversation at 11am. They each have a strong connection to their culture through their creative arts practice.
Featuring:
- Terrie Stewart, a proud Taungurung woman and contemporary Aboriginal weaver. Weaving is central to Terrie’s cultural practice and identity. Living away from her ancestral Country, she uses weaving as a way to reconnect with culture, story and belonging. Alongside her artistic practice, Terrie worked for 35 years in the Victorian Criminal Justice System, where she advocated for and supported Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
- -Aimee McCartney, is a Taungurung, Wotjobaluk, Wemba Wemba and Boon Wurrung woman.
