The first few months of 2025 have already delivered some unforgettable moments across the Mornington Peninsula — and Peninsula Tales has been there to capture them.
From the return of bandicoots to the launch of our mobile library van, from dirt jumps to student art exhibitions, these are the kinds of stories that bring us together and remind us why we love where we live.

So far this year we’ve:

Celebrated young talent

With New Wave 25, VCE students got to showcase their work in a public gallery — and the results were incredible.

Got our hands dirty

The Agriculture Industry Immersion Tour took students from the classroom to the paddock, and the Briars Nursery showed us how local hands are helping to grow a greener future.

Made some noise

Hastings Emergency Services Day drew huge crowds and even bigger smiles, while Somerville’s new Community Art Space brought creativity to the heart of a shopping centre.

Jumped in

The brand-new dirt jump park in Somers proved that the best tracks are the ones designed by the riders themselves.

Moved in new ways

From the launch of our first-ever Senior Exercise Park to OLiV the Library Van making books more accessible than ever, 2025 has been full of fresh ideas.

Felt the love

Whether it was Valentine’s Day at the Animal Shelter or the surprise return of bandicoots to the Briars, the warm fuzzies have been real.

And there’s more to come.

This is just the beginning — and we’re looking forward to sharing even more stories in the months ahead.
