Celebrate local women this International Women's Day

This International Women’s Day, it’s time to uncover the untold stories of women who helped shape the Mornington Peninsula.
Join us for HERstory: Women of the Mornington Peninsula, a public art project celebrating the achievements, challenges, and triumphs of local women throughout history.
Kicking off 8 March 2025 until 8 June, this project brings history to life with an inspiring montage of images displayed as a 10 metre photo montage mural on our Mornington external office Office (2 Queen Street).
But that’s just the beginning. Here’s what’s also happening:

HERstory podcasts
As part of our , tune in to hear from women who have shaped the Peninsula’s identity by highlighting the unique experiences, challenges and triumphs. Showcasing the lives of women be they pioneers, activists, artists or everyday heroes. We'll be releasing clips from 8 March until early June 2025.
Sports Club Breakfast
28 February 2025, 7 – 9am
Alexandra Park Pavilion (275 Main Street Mornington)
This breakfast features special guest Andrew Nabbout Socceroo and Melbourne City Champion Footballer, along with MC Emma Gallagher showcasing Mornington Yacht Club’s Women on Water program along with a presentation from Australian Sports Commission to celebrate the power and inclusivity of community sport.
Whether you’re passionate about history, art, or equality, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
