Payment method is EFTPOS or Credit Card only. Cash is not accepted. Waste vouchers (printed or digital copies) are also accepted.
Surcharges apply to credit card payments:American Express 0.77%, Visa 0.39%, Mastercard 0.36%
Proof of Shire residency may need to be presented to qualify for Shire resident fees and charges. Either a driving licence or rates notice will be accepted.
The Shire does not record, collect or store any personal information used to demonstrate Shire residency.

What is accepted?
- Green, Hard Waste and General Rubbish
- A range of recyclable materials (E-waste, appliances, household recycling etc - see Fees and Charges for details)
- Only loads of up to 3 cubic metres accepted
- Vehicle greater than 4.5 Gross Vehicle Mass can deposit their waste at the Rye Resource and Recovery Centre.
- Free X-ray film recycling. Residents are reminded to remove any personal information prior to disposing of the X-rays.
- A maximum limit of 4 mattresses applies (Domestic quantities accepted)
- A maximum limit of 2 fridges/air conditioning units applies (Domestic quantities accepted)
- A maximum limit of 4 tyres applies (see below for terms and conditions)
Mornington Peninsula Shire Council provides free drop off for up to four vehicle tyres per day at our transfer stations for residents. This is for personal or hobby use purposes and is not intended to support or subsidise commercial businesses who are charging for tyre replacements. The disposal of tyres will be tracked and limited to a total dropped off by any one person to 20 per financial year. Free tyre disposal may be refused if commercial use is suspected.

Mulch/Crushed Rock
To purchase mulch or crushed rock from the Mornington Resource Recovery Centre, please proceed to the gatehouse where you will be directed to the mulch area.
The prices of these materials can be confirmed by calling Solo Resource Recovery on (03) 5988 5015 or directly at the sites.

Recycled Goods Shop
The Recycled Goods Shop (Tip Op Shop) at Mornington sells pre-loved goods and some plants, you'll never know what you'll find! Donate your items to the Op shop via the Mornington Resource Recovery Centre on Watt Rd, turn off at the Detox Your Home section before the gatehouse.
