Based on the movement that started in the Netherlands, The Southern Peninsula, Mornington and Hastings Repair Café hold monthly repair sessions where volunteer fixers show you how to fix your broken or torn things for a small donation. Donations are used to purchase tools and materials. They have fixed chainsaws, clocks and heaters, sharpened secateurs and raised hems.

Repair Café Foundation
The Repair Café concept arose in the Netherlands in 2009 and was formulated by Martine Postma, at the time an Amsterdam-based journalist/publicist. In 2010, she started the Repair Café Foundation. This foundation provides support to local groups around the world wishing to start their own Repair Café. The foundation also supports the Southern Peninsula Repair Café and the Mornington Repair Café.
