Repair Cafe

Are you tired of throwing away items that could be fixed with a little bit of repair? Do you like reducing waste and embracing sustainability?

Based on the movement that started in the Netherlands, the Southern Peninsula, Mornington Men's Shed and Hastings Repair Cafés hold monthly repair sessions where volunteer fixers show you how to fix your broken or torn things for a small donation. Donations are used to purchase tools and materials. They have fixed chainsaws, clocks and heaters, sharpened secateurs and raised hems. If you'd like to join any of them as a volunteer, or would like more information, contact details are here:

Repair Café Foundation

The Repair Café concept arose in the Netherlands in 2009 and was formulated by Martine Postma, at the time an Amsterdam-based journalist/publicist. In 2010, she started the Repair Café Foundation. This foundation provides support to local groups around the world wishing to start their own Repair Café.
