The Sorrento Netball Courts project involves the construction of 2 new Netball Victoria compliant co-located Netball Courts at David MacFarlan Reserve in Sorrento in accordance with the David MacFarlan Reserve draft Master Plan.

The project focuses on the asset renewal / replacement of the 4 existing courts that have reached end of life with two new courts by addition of infrastructure such as lighting, electrical upgrades/scoreboard and coaches’ box adjacent to the Football Netball clubrooms at David MacFarlan Recreation Reserve in Sorrento.

The project also relocates the courts within the reserve to improve the functionality for the Sorrento Football / Netball club.

Originally, 1 and 3/4 courts were planned, however, approval was received to build over the SEW easement to allow for two full courts. A request for additional funding through the budget process has been made to enable this change. Construction is planned from late 2025 to early 2026, outside of netball / football season and is dependent on additional funding being granted during the capital works budget bid process.
