The Facility has been closed since mid 2022 due to drainage issues that has resulted in the presence of mould. Works are required to remove mould and stop water ingress prior to reconstructing the building to allow it to be reopened.

Funding for the early works to rectify drainage and remove mould-affected has been approved in the 2025/26 budget. Following these early works a period of drying out will occur and further funding will be sought for the remaining works to restore the facility prior to it being reopened.

Status Update:

The early works funding has been increased to maximise outcomes for preliminary works including additional drainage works. There has been a minor delay to the project commencement however, works have now commenced on site, and the early works are on track to be completed by end of 2025.
