Repower Mornington Peninsula Postcodes 3926 & 7 - Launch Event

Repower

Repower Mornington Peninsula is holding a community event on Sunday 19 February 2023 from 3:30-5pm at the Balnarring Community Hall to launch a local community group for Balnarring, Balnarring Beach, Merricks North, Merricks Beach and Somers. Although focussed on postcodes 3926 & 3927, the event is open to everyone.

You can register here: https://events.humanitix.com/repower-balnarring-community-townhall-meeting

During and after the event, Repower Mornington Peninsula intends to work with residents to explore what can be done locally to help households, businesses and community organisations take actions to decarbonise and transition to renewable energy.  This includes exploring larger scale options such as community batteries, solar gardens and virtual energy networks.

Repower Mornington Peninsula is a local volunteer-led community decarbonisation network, focused on reducing energy-related carbon emissions through mass electrification and use of renewable energy (locally generated where possible). Its model empowers postcode communities to take ownership of and action towards their local annual emissions reduction target, aiming to reach 70% reduction by 2030. Repower Mornington Peninsula provides prioritised actions that residents and businesses can take and partners with the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council and recommended local suppliers/installers to promote related services that aid electrification and decarbonisation.
