James McPherson, founder of Jimmy Rum, turned his 20-year career as a merchant seafarer into a passion for crafting premium rum. Inspired by the untapped potential of Australian craft spirits, James launched the Mornington Peninsula’s first rum distillery to showcase the diversity and quality of the spirit.

Committed to community and collaboration, James partners with local producers to create a welcoming space at his Dromana distillery. When not crafting spirits, he enjoys sailing at Martha Cove and exploring the Peninsula’s coastal trails, local wineries, cafes and artisan scene.
