The Shire is progressing the area wide safety upgrade of Rye and Tootgarook after receiving Federal Blackspot Funding which targets locations where speed related crashes are occurring.
The Shire has a strong commitment to road safety through our Mornington Peninsula Towards Zero 2020-2025 road safety strategy. The aim of the strategy is to create a safe road system for the community to reduce road trauma. An important part of road safety is having appropriate speed limits that are suitable for each road.
The works were split into four packages:
Package 1: Bimble Street & Ozone Street Intersection. Bimble Street and Hygeia Street Intersection
Package 2: Government Road & Waratah Street Intersection. Field Street and Shirlow Avenue Intersection
Package 3: Field Street & Marshall Street Intersection. Alma Street & Plain Street Intersection. Alma Street & Darvall Street.
Package 4: Speed Reduction Signage
All works have been completed
