Canadian Bay and Half Moon Bay are among the most popular coastal destinations in the region, experiencing consistently high levels of visitation throughout the year, with a notable surge during the peak summer season. However, the existing infrastructure at both locations is significantly aged, showing signs of disrepair and no longer meeting the needs of the community or visitors.

This renewal project has been initiated to address these challenges by delivering upgraded facilities that will enhance the overall visitor experience, improve public safety, and ensure equitable access for all users.

Following a comprehensive review process, the draft design and financial estimate have been finalized. The design has been completed, and tendering is being prepared for next month.

Project Update:

Tender evaluation has been completed, and a tender report recommending the preferred contractor is now being prepared for presentation at the Council meeting on 17 February 2026.
