Experience a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony delivered by Uncle Josh West along with a 2 hour interactive Cultural Awareness Training Session delivered by Jillian West, both proud Bunurong and Palawa Traditional Owners.

This workshop is designed to deepen understanding of the historical and ongoing challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Participants will gain insights into past policies and practices and their enduring impacts on Indigenous cultures, communities, and traditions.  

Things that are good to know:

  • This is a free community event held as part of Reconciliation Week
  • The evening begins with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony at 5:30pm
  • The Cultural Awareness Session starts at 6:15pm and runs for around 2 hours
  • Please arrive early and be respectful during cultural ceremonies
  • The session is interactive and encourages open‑minded learning and reflection
  • Parking is available
  • This event is appropriate for ages 16 years and over.
