Beverley was a lover of the landscape and this forthcoming show features her most influential oils on linen, and detailed working drawings, inspired by time spent observing the light and colours of the landscape in two significant parts of Australia.

She loved the Northern Territory travelling often to Darwin, Alice Springs and the Kimberley region. The "bloody wet and bloody dry" series of works in this show were created when she lived in Darwin for three months after winning the Loch Ard Award.

Her second major influence over her decades of work was her childhood, family time and her later life, living on the Mornington Peninsula.

Her final years were spent in her home and garden with her chair positioned to sit and watch the changing landscape and colours.

To quote Beverley, “One can never do the landscape in this country real justice”.

She worked tirelessly at capturing the essence through the works you will see in this show.

Her interpretations of the harsh and colourful northern landscapes and the softer seasonal beauty of the Mornington Peninsula come through in this collection.

The works represented here are the best and most significant of these two periods.

Beverley’s work has been compared to that of her contemporary John Olsen for its love of colour and expressive energy.

This exhibition is a testament to her remarkable talent and a celebration of her enduring legacy in the Australian art scene.
