The Emil Madsen Reserve is a well utilised recreation reserve and caters for four sporting clubs including:

  • Mount Eliza Football Netball Club
  • Mount Eliza Junior Football Club
  • Mount Eliza Cricket Club
  • Mount Eliza Soccer Club

In 2019, the Council adopted the Emil Madsen Reserve Master Plan, which details the facilities essential for the various user groups that utilise Emil Madsen.

In 2024, the Council secured a funding agreement with the Federal Government amounting to $15 million to initiate Stage 1 of the Master Plan.

Stage 1 includes the following projects:

  • Upgrades to power, water, and sewerage systems at Emil Madsen Reserve
  • The construction of a new East Pavilion to cater to soccer, junior football, cricket, and netball clubs
  • The establishment of a new five-lane cricket net facility
  • The detailed design of a West Pavilion to support football, netball, junior football, and cricket clubs (construction of this pavilion will require further funding and is subject to Councils yearly Budget Bid Process)
