Bittern Activity Centre Public Amenity was identified for renewal as a priority through council adopted 2012 Public Toilet Strategy.

Asset register records indicate that the existing toilet block was constructed in 1960. It services the adjacent activity centre that includes a township shopping precinct, public hall users, neighbourhood playground patrons and the Bittern Rotary Community Market.

It is proposed to demolish the existing facility and provide accessible and fit for purpose modular toilet facility to foster significant participation in community events and activities and support economic development and business opportunities, meeting the needs of the community, in a sustainable manner.

Concept design of the project has been completed and we have been successful in acquiring necessary funds through the ‘Tiny Towns Fund’ to complete this project through the 24/25 Financial Year. The project has proceeded to a ‘Request for Quote’ process for the Design & Construction of the updated amenity block and some surrounding amenity improvements. Quotations are currently under evaluation.
