On the morning of Sunday 21 June 2026, as the sun rises on the shortest day of the year, participants in the Sorrento Solstice Dawn Swim will enter Port Phillip Bay together from the Sorrento Foreshore.
The Dawn Swim is a ticketed companion event to the Sorrento Solstice Festival, presented by the Sorrento Chamber of Commerce. Numbers are limited to keep it close-knit. Participants gather at the foreshore at first light and mark the winter solstice in the water.
For those making a weekend of the solstice, the Dawn Swim closes it well: Saturday evening on the foreshore around the fire, Sunday morning in the bay at sunrise.
