We’re proud to launch Culture Fest 2025, a week of community events to mark Harmony Week. Everyone is invited to take part in local celebrations and activities from 17-23 March.
Rhythm & Flavours, Saturday 22 March
Join us for a day of multicultural music, performance and food. Main Street, Mornington will come alive as we invite local talents with heritage from all corners of the world to take to the stage; there’ll be dancers, bands, multilingual songs and more. Not only a feast for the eyes and ears – you can also enjoy spicy, sweet and delicious bites from food trucks and local cafes and restaurants. We’ll have buskers stationed at different points in the street, bringing you vibrant tunes all day long! An event not to be missed!
Let’s talk about it! Racism and discrimination, Friday 21 March
This live Q&A event will bring together community members and thought leaders from diverse cultural backgrounds, including Jillian West local Bunurong Elder, Anita L’Enfant (Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission), Rana Ebrahimi (Multicultural Youth Advocacy Network), Benbenjie Ward Councillor Max Patton and MC Rosemarie Draper. Together they will share personal stories, knowledge and insights on the impact of racism and discrimination and what can be done about it.
Multilingual story time and craft session, Wednesday 19 March
Travel to Europe with a special story time for the little ones – books and stories read in Greek, Croatian and Spanish, followed by fun crafts.
Cultural Walk and Yidaki led meditation, Sunday 23 March
Connect with nature and learn about ancient culture and history on a guided walk of McCrae foreshore. After the walk, join Uncle Lionel for a healing Yidaki meditation. Most mobility and wheelchair friendly.
Culture Fest is funded by Mornington Peninsula Shire, demonstrating our commitment to fostering inclusivity and celebrating diverse communities in line with our We All Belong Strategy.
