New Dromana–Safety Beach path: Have your say on the route
Published on 13 October 2025
We’re planning a new shared path to help locals walk, ride or roll more safely and easily – and we want your input to help shape it.
Two route options are on the table, and now’s the time to tell us which one will better connect your neighbourhood.
Whether you’re commuting, heading to the shops, getting outdoors, or just want safer ways to travel – this path is for you.
This project will connect Dromana and Safety Beach through a safe and accessible shared path. It’s part of our work to support active transport and give locals more options for how they get around.
The options
Option 1: Boundary Road route
- Runs down Boundary Road, continuing along White Hill Road and then onto Old White Hill Road toward the school
- Requires more vegetation removal (approx. 1.198 hectares)
- Services fewer residents
- Needs one pedestrian crossing
Option 2: Nepean Highway route
- Travels via Rainier Avenue, through the Dromana Industrial Estate, then along Nepean Highway, reconnecting to White Hill Road
- Less vegetation removal (approx. 0.448 hectares)
- Services both Dromana and Safety Beach
- Needs two pedestrian crossings
- Could link into the Priority Pedestrian Network in future
