Help shape our libraries for the future

We’re reviewing our library services and want to hear from those who love our libraries and those who haven’t yet discovered what they have to offer. Help us understand how we can deliver a more welcoming and responsive library service that better meets your needs.

Our libraries are widely regarded as ‘community living rooms’ - an integral part of the social fabric of the Mornington Peninsula. Yet, the way our community uses our libraries has changed in recent years. As community needs evolve, we want to ensure our library services evolve with them.

We’re also aware that many in our community may not be familiar with all the resources and services libraries provide or may be facing barriers to using them.  We want to hear from you too.

Over the next four weeks, we are asking you to share your thoughts on what you value most and what you’d like to see more of from our libraries. Your feedback will be used to guide our planning for all aspects of our library service, including infrastructure, collections, technology, programs, staffing and outreach.

Whether you’re a regular visitor, an occasional user, or haven’t visited in some time, your insights will help us design a service that is more accessible, relevant and meaningful for everyone.

Acting Mayor Paul Pingiaro said libraries played an iconic role in our community.

“Libraries provide so much more than access to books. They’re community hubs, providing a warm and comfortable space where everyone feels equally welcome. They are places not only to learn, but to explore, relax and feel genuinely connected to our community,” Cr Pingiaro said.

“We want to know what you love about our current library services and what you think we can do differently. We know there are many who want to use our libraries but can’t, or who believe there’s nothing there for them. We need to hear from you too.

“This is an important review that will determine how our libraries operate for many years to come. Please take the time to complete our survey or chat to our staff at a drop-in session.”
