The Shire is excited to support a range of events across the Peninsula by providing resources and tailored advice to event organisers to ensure the delivery of safe, inclusive, and vibrant events.

Shire managed land

If you plan to hold an event on Shire owned or managed land, you will require an event permit.

Do you plan to hold an event at The Briars?

A range of beautiful venues are available for hire at The Briars.

The Historic Homestead Garden is perfect for wedding ceremonies, memorials and other events.

A large (10m x 15m) event marquee is set among the gardens, with power, water, lighting and toilets including in this package. This site affords beautiful views across the homestead, vineyard and hills. Lush lawn areas set among formal gardens are beautiful sites for ceremonies or outdoor cocktails.

Do you plan to book an indoor space?

Community halls are located across the peninsula and are available to book for activities, functions and events. Halls can be hired seven days a week.

If it is listed under Mornington Peninsula Shire, you will need an event permit.

If it is listed under Parks Victoria, you will need to let them know you plan to hold an event.

Permit fees vary depending on the type, season and event impact. An additional bond may be required for your event, charged at the discretion of the Shire.
