During storm or flood events, the Victorian State Emergency Service (SES) is the primary government agency to contact if you need emergency assistance. However, if you are in immediate danger, call 000.
Council assists with cleaning up after storm events, including on Shire roads and other Shire-managed areas.
The amount of clean up required isn’t always reflective of the severity or duration of the storm event. Over the years, we have seen relatively minor storms result in significant cleanup work, while some larger storm events have required minimal cleanup. Typically, most of the cleanup after storms relates to fallen debris (such as branches and trees) across the road network.
Our Tree Management service provider leads Council’s outdoor storm response efforts. This includes inspections across the Peninsula after a major storm event and undertaking cleanup activities.
